오늘은 조이와 챈들러의 담배 씬 연기 장면을 가져와 보았다.

이 장면을 통해 챈들러는 그동안 참아왔던 담배에 대한 욕구를 풀면서 봉인해제하게 되는데..ㅋㅋ

 

Chandler: "So how does it feel knowing you're about to die?"
Joey: "Warden, in five minutes my pain will be over. But you'll have to live with the knowledge that you sent an honest man to die."
Chandler: Hey, that was really good!
Joey: Thanks! Let's keep going.
Chandler: Okay. "So. What do you want from me, Damone, huh?"
Joey: "I just wanna go back to my cell. 'Cause in my cell, I can smoke."
Chandler: "Smoke away."
(Joey takes out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He fumbles and drops the lighter. Then he lights a cigarett, takes a drag, and coughs.) 
Chandler: I think this is probably why Damone smokes in his cell alone.Joey: What?
Chandler: Relax your hand!
(Joey lets his wrist go limp.)
Chandler: Not so much!
Joey: Whoah!
Chandler: Hey!
Joey: Hey!
Chandler: Alright, now try taking a puff.
(Joey tries and visibly winces.)
Chandler: Alright.. okay. No. Give it to me.
Joey: No no no, I am not giving you a cigarette.
Chandler: It's fine, it's fine. hey, Look, do you wanna get this part, or not? Here. 
(Joey reluctantly gives him the cigarette.)
Chandler: Don't think of it as a cigarette. Think of it as the thing that's been missing from your hand. When you're holding it, you feel right. You feel complete.
Joey: Y'miss it?
Chandler: Nah, not so much. Alright, now we smoke. (Takes a puff.) Oh.. my.. God.

챈들러 :   “죽음을 눈앞에 두니 기분이 어떤가?”

조이 : “워든, 5분 후면 내 고통은 끝나지만 당신은 죄 없는 사람을 죽인 죄책감에 평생 시달릴 거야.”

챈들러 : 야 방금 연기 미쳤다!!

조이 : 고마워~ 계속 하자!

챈들러 : 좋아! "그래서 원하는게 뭐야, 디몬?"

조이 : "난 그냥 내 감방으로 가고 싶네. 왜냐면 내 방에선, 담배를 필 수 있거든"

챈들러 : "맘껏 피우게!"

챈들러 : 내가 볼 땐 이게 디몬이 혼자 담배를 피는 이유인 듯 싶다..

조이 : 뭐?

챈들러 : 손에 힘 좀 빼!  ... 너무 뺏잖아!

조이 & 챈들러 : 워우! 야! 야!

챈들러 : 좋아 이제 한 모금 빨아봐. 좋아.. 으이구 아냐. 내놔.

조이 : 안 돼! 너한테 담배 못 주지!

챈들러 : 괜찮아! 괜찮아! 이봐, 너 이 배역 따내기 싫어?

챈들러 : 좋아. 이제 이걸 담배라고 생각하지 말고 네 손에 원래 있었던 거라고 생각해 봐. 잡고 있으면, 비로소 온전해진 기분이 들지.

조이 : 담배가 그리웠어?

챈들러 : 아니 그건 아니고;; 이제 피운다.. 와.. 오졌다..!!!

 

※ going to vs about to 비교

be going to : 미래의 계획이나 예정된 상황, 비교적 가까운 미래의 일

be about to : 이미 시작되어 언제든지 일어날 수 있는 상황, 일어나기 직전인 상황, 극단적으로 가까운 미래의 시점

ex)

I'm going to visit my grandmother tomorrow.

내일 할머니 집을 방문할 계획이야.

I think it's about to rain. The sky looked cloudy.

비가 금방 올 것 같아. 하늘이 어둑어둑해.

 

Cell : 감방, (수도자의) 수도실, 세포

Smoke away : (담배)마음껏 펴라!

fumble : (무엇을 하거나 찾느라고 손으로) 더듬거리다.

ex) She fumbled in her pocket for a handkerchief.

그녀는 호주머니를 더듬거리며 손수건을 찾았다.

take a drag (on cigarette) : (담배를) 한 모금 빨다.

limp : 기운이 없는, 축 처진

ex) His hand went limp and the knife clattered to the ground.

그의 손이 축 처지더니 칼이 덜거덕거리며 바닥에 떨어졌다.

wince : (통증, 당혹감으로 얼굴 표정이) 움찔하고 놀라다.

reluctantly : 마지못해

(reluctant : 꺼리는, 마지못한, 주저하는)

 

담배의 맛에 다시 눈을 뜬 챈들러..

 

Chandler, Please put that cigarette out!
챈들러, 제발 담배 불 꺼!!
